Bethenny Frankel's Skinnygirl Brand Is Launching a Jeans Line
She's designing jeans, tops, and jackets — all in a wide range of sizes.
The Real Housewives of New York City's Bethenny Frankel has already put her mark on margaritas and popcorn with Skinnygirl, her incredibly successful brand. Now she's officially branching out from the food world: Bethenny's about to launch her own apparel line called Skinnygirl Jeans, which will hit department stores and online shops this fall.
It makes total sense: The Skinnygirl mogul is known for her fashion sense, and she has the epic closet to prove it. Plus, Bethenny's definitely not the first Housewife to venture into fashion — and in fact, she already has her own T-shirt line emblazoned with quips like "I know it all."
But soon, she's hoping to dress women for all sorts of occasions, from date night to casual Friday. "There are your ‘going on a plane’ jeans, your ‘squeeze them on for a date’ jeans, your boyfriend jeans, ones with fringe," Bethenny told Women's Wear Daily. The Skinnygirl Jeans line is in partnership with One Jeanswear Group and pieces will clock in at $100 and less. The line will include denim, knit tops, and jackets for the launch.
But as the body positive moment picks up steam in fashion, is it appropriate to call a fashion line "Skinnygirl?" Bethenny is adamanent that her line will include plus-sizes, despite her brand name.
“Skinnygirl is a state of mind and a sensibility,” Bethenny told WWD. “It’s not about the words. It’s about applauding your strength and feeling good about yourself. It is important to me that this line is inclusive of all shapes and sizes.”
Watch out, Khloé Kardashian, there's about to be a new celeb denim line in town.
