Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Honeymoon Spot Is Not at All What People Guessed
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's honeymoon destination defies the rumors — but it's not as random as it seems.
As the royal wedding planning came to a close, people were feverishly speculating where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may honeymoon.
At first, Africa was the strongest frontrunner in the guessing game: It’s where the two fell in love, after all. But turns out the reality looks like it's a lot less tropical.
The prevailing assumption now is that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, also known as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, are honeymooning in Canada, per TMZ. They might likely be visiting Alberta's Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Jasper National Park and staying at the Outlook Cabin — which costs around $8,850 in Canadian dollars, or the equivalent of about $6,800 per night.
Although it does not offer exotic African safaris, the Fairmont Jasper Park is quite luxurious. Canada’s top-rated golf course is found there, at the Fairmont Spa features luxury brands like Pai-Shau, Tata Harper, and, Kerstin Florian.
While this choice may seem out of left field (er, north field?) it’s actually not: The Fairmont Jasper Park has royal history. King George VI and the Queen Mother stayed in 1939, and Queen Elizabeth I and Prince Philip stayed in 2005.
As well, there's also always going to be a soft spot in Meghan’s heart for Canada: She lived there while filming seven seasons of Suits.
