This Is The Low-Maintenance Secret Behind Jennifer Aniston's Famous Highlights
Anyone have a lemon we can borrow?
If you live near the ocean, you can have perfect highlights without ever hitting the salon. At least, if you trust Jennifer Aniston — and who doesn't, when it comes to hair tips? The actress recently filled InStyle in on some of her favorite beauty and wellness tips, and we were pleasantly surprised at how low-maintenance Aniston's famous highlights are.
Instead of taking her tresses to a top Beverly Hills salon, she lightens them using a spray bottle filled with the following earthy ingredients: seawater, and a whole lemon. That's it! "The lemon brings out your highlights," Aniston said. "Plus, you get the great smell of the ocean.”
Aniston has been a hair muse to many since she introduced the world to "The Rachel" back in the '90s. (To give credit where it's due: the layered chop was invented by stylist Chris McMillan.)
Since then, the actress has kept her head in the game (pun intended — couldn't help it.) She was formerly a part owner and spokesperson for the haircare brand Living Proof, and she gamely dishes out tips for smoothness and shine in nearly every interview she grants.
The tip about the lemon-seawater magic potion wasn't the only time Aniston's hair advice has been made for the lazy beauty enthusiast, either. In 2015, the Friends star told Allure that she washes her hair every two or three days, and is a fan of air-drying. Ahh. Never has the actress seemed more relatable.
