This is the Facial Miranda Kerr Gets Before Hitting the Runway
Magnets and cupping do wonders for one's complexion.
Miranda Kerr has breakouts, too. She just knows exactly how to treat them. Miranda is one of the top models to trust her glowing complexion to New York facialist Ildi Pekar, who's been called the "supermodel skincare whsiperer" for good reason. (Her client list also features Lindsay Ellingson and Irina Shayk. So, she comes by her reputation honestly.) "[Models] can sometimes experience really congested skin from wearing heavy makeup," Ildi told The Lookbook. "They also work a lot of hours and sometimes do not rest enough. Not resting enough can take a toll on the skin."
Ildi believes that skincare is healthcare. When her model clients have the time, she'll combine body treatments with her facials. And no matter what, she starts off with deep cleanses and hydration. "I always mask them with my Hungarian Thermal Mud, which gives them a great detox, and hydrate their skin with my raw honey moisturizer," Ildi says.
Then, it's onto the treatments: "My oxygen therapy helps restore them. I also tighten and firm their skin with many different techniques depending on what they need." If her clients pop in for a facial right before hitting the runway, Ildi gives them her magnetic-cupping facial. The service incorporates rhythmic vibrations, which stimulates cell structure to give an overall appearance of smooth, lifted skin. "Our cupping facial works instantly to give [models] a radiant glow right before they hit the runway," Ildi says. "They love what it does to their skin and their energy."
Since makeup is a must for many of her clients, there are some cosmetics Ildi approves. She names RMS Beauty as a line that allows for beautiful, but still healthy skin. And mud masks aside, there are certain lifestyle musts for making skin look gorgeous. "My clients eat very clean and always make time to destress, detox, and repair themselves," the skincare guru says. "It's so important to take a moment and just relax and have ‘you’ time."
