This Is How Adriana Lima Gets Her Killer Bod For the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
She settles her nerves by hitting the gym. Hard.
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is coming right up, and Adriana Lima is getting ready to strut her stuff in dreamy lingerie as millions of viewers look on. The 36-year-old beauty has walked in the show 17 times before (yep, 17!), but she still puts in plenty of grunt work before each year's glitter-flecked spectacle.
Lima appeared at a fitness-focused event for the brand earlier this week, and spilled some of her workout secrets. In the months leading up the show, Lima told W Magazine, she settles her nerves by hitting the gym hard. The Angel is based on Miami, but manages to squeeze in some sweat sessions even when she's on the road.
When she's in New York, Lima pays routine visits to the Dogpound. Not exactly known for its smoothies and calming yoga classes, the hotspot for VS Angels has the motto "Smash It." And when Lima drops by, she focuses on single body parts, showing no mercy to her abs, glutes, and legs.
How else does the model stay looking like this?
Lima also jumps rope; she boxes, and she fits in plenty of cardio. And when she has a show coming up, the famous Brazilian hits the gym six days a week.
"I’m so excited," the stunner told W about this year's show, which films in late November. "I can’t wait. Right now, the nerves are striking. I get super nervous every single time. It’s unbelievable to be going to China. It’s going to be one of the biggest shows ever. It’s insane."
Big, indeed: Along with megawatt models, the show draws top design talent. This year, Balmain's creative director Olivier Rousteing will collaborate with Victoria's Secret on looks for the runway; he'll also spearhead a capsule collection that will be available in stores and online on November 29.
Hmm, perhaps we should squeeze in some extra workouts before we shop that body-con collection. Call us if you need a gym buddy, Adriana!
