These Grammy Looks Are Making It Impossible To Focus On Work Today
These are the looks that will have us texting our friends all day.
We watch music-award shows for the outrageous fashion. (Oh yeah, and the songs. But mostly, the fashion.) Luckily, this year's red carpet did not disappoint. We know what you're thinking, but look: even though Beyonce didn't walk it, she made it up to us later with a glorious performance.
So even before the big show officially started, there was puh-lenty to talk about. There was a dress that vowed to Make America Great Again, for example, and that little brooch that broadcast a big message. Then, there were a few standout looks that—for better or for wore—we'll never forget.
Here's a peek at the looks that have us still buzzing and totally distracted from work this morning, whether it's because they're really good or, um, other. You decide.
It's our friend from the Super Bowl! Though Lady Gaga has turned out to events in some more pared-back looks lately (though, let's be real, pared back for her means no meat) she didn't hold back at the Grammys.
Halsey was a bit more covered up than Gaga, but we wouldn't call this prudish per se. The singer told Ryan Seacrest that her Christian Wijnants look was an homage to the sporty style of TLC.
Rihanna also chose to show off a little skin. The Halloween-hued look was custom Armani Prive, and Rih worked with stylist Mel Ottenberg. The singer looked like a princess, even if this is not your typical girly frock. But if that's what you're after...
In Miri Couture, Camila Cabello looked plucked from the set of a Disney movie.
Elle King was like a rock-star fairy princess in a flowery pink dress by Teuta Matoshi Duriqi.
Jennifer Lopez was ethereal and garden-party-ready in a lavender dress by Ralph & Russo. We have to show this look twice, because it draped so sexily when J-Lo sat down.
Now, prepare yourself for something different. Very different.
What, what, WHAT is this? Why, it's CeeLo Green! Dressed as an alter ego named "Gnarly Davidson." It's okay—take your time processing.
Ready? Onto Kay Perry. The newly blond singer wore an ever-so-slightly confusing look by Tom Ford. We do love the gold, but we'll get back to you on the rest.
Carrie Underwood was as classic-country-superstar as it gets in a glittering red look by Elie Madi.
Heidi Klum looked like a classic supermodel in a barely-there silver dress by Philipp Plein. Guys, how did she sit down?
And finally, the angelic Paris Jackson wore striped, glittering Balmain. She carried an iridescent clutch by War—but wore tiny peace signs in her ears.
