These Are The Biggest Celebrity Hair Transformations of 2016

Just putting this out there: 2016 is undoubtedly the year of the Lob. We’ve been tracking the many, many celebs who’ve traded in long hair for shoulder-swiping bobs. But long to lob wasn’t the only hair transformation of the past 365 days. See who went platinum, rose gold, or even had the guts to shave off half her hair.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is 2016’s queen of hair transformation, which is amazing considering she barely cut off more than a few inches. First, Taylor unveiled an Anna Wintour-esque chin-length bob with bangs at the Grammys in February. The next big shock was her platinum bleach job for the Met Gala in May, which went along with her “edgy” style makeover with chokers and velvet. Then by September, she was back to a ‘70s-inspired shag in a more natural honey blond shade.

Gina Rodriguez

Gina Rodriguez said goodbye to her flowing Jane The Virgin mane in the most dramatic way possible this spring: by getting an undercut. Gina shaved half her head for a movie role, and then cut the rest of her hair in an of-the-moment choppy bob. She even added in some blond highlights too for good measure.

Halle Berry

“Movie hair. Don't care,” is how Halle Berry described her choppy new pixie-ish look, and it brought us way back to the early aughts—in a good way.

America Ferrera

This past year, Lucy Hale went from a lob to a bob and from brunette to golden blond to brunette once more. “I go back to blaaaaack. Thank you @kristin_ess for taking me back to my true self,” she wrote on Instagram with a shoutout to her stylist. (Fun fact: Kristin Ess also works with Halle.)

Karlie Kloss

Supermodel Karlie Kloss got bangs for the fall fashion week circuit, and we’re betting this fringe made it onto a million Pinterest boards.

Selena Gomez

Finally, see the newest celebrity chop on Selena Gomez, who seems to have cut off some of her Pantene-perfect hair. She went shorter over the summer, but in December, songwriter Justin Tranter posted a pic of Selena sporting a lob. This seems like a perfect hairstyle to ride out 2016.
