David Foster: Why Yolanda and I Are Moving

The Grammy-winning songwriter also shares the unusual story of how they met.

By Sarv Kreindler

Yolanda Foster and husband David's spectacular house (and amazing glass refrigerator!) has been a source of envy for many viewers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for a few seasons now. So it was somewhat of a shock when the couple announced that they were putting the house on the market to move someplace smaller earlier this year.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Bravo Tuesday, November 19 at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

"I love being in Malibu, but I’ve been here for 30 years, and the drive is starting to wear on me," the Grammy-winning songwriter tells Haute Living. "You can’t just have dinner with friends who live in town: you have to leave here at five to get there at seven because of the traffic." The Fosters' new plans are to buy "a small house with a city view" in the neighborhood behind the Beverly Hills Hotel.

It'll be a new place for their pretty fabulous love story to continue. David actually met Yolanda through none other than Yolanda's ex-husband, Mohamed Hadid. “[Mohamed] and I were friends, and we had this plan that we were going to live together. I was walking around his house, and I saw all these photographs of him and [Yolanda] and their children," David reminisces. "I said, ‘That’s your ex-wife, and I’d like to meet her.’ So he introduced us."

Five years later they were married and now David is getting recognized more often than not as Yolanda's husband as he is for his work with the likes of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion. "Yolanda is very real and people respond to that in a very positive way. They like her truth," he says proudly of his wife.
