Caroline Manzo Says Brother's Wedding 'Was Pure Perfection'
But the NJ matriarch does have one regret about Jaime's big day.
There were horse-drawn carriages, fireworks, paper lanterns, fancy hats -- and the wedding between Jaime Laurita and Rich Lane on Real Housewives of New Jersey was just as fabulous as it looked on television, according to proud sister Caroline Manzo.
Caroline took to her blog to talk about the gorgeous nuptials you saw on last night's RHONJ episode, saying that while she's not surprised her brother -- a chef and party planner -- could put together such a fabulous affair, it was still pretty impressive given the time constraints. "I'm amazed at how beautiful it was, considering it was planned and orchestrated within one month's time. From the horse-drawn carriage to the ceremony and party afterwards, it was pure perfection. It was an incredible event filled with lots of good food, love, and laughter," Caroline writes.
And aside from it being a pretty over-the-top bash, Caroline hopes that the wedding being televised will help others relate to gay marriage. "Jaime and Rich are two men that have committed themselves to each other over the past 13 years and have built a loving home and life together in spite of the fact that their relationship isn’t recognized in the eyes of so many in today’s society. Good for them, I applaud their courage and I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness. They deserve it ... My hope is that tonight’s episode showed the world that love comes in all different shapes, sizes, and colors. The heart feels what the heart feels, and no one should be denied the simple right to love who their heart tells them to.
Still, there's a lingering regret for Caroline, who says that she was upset "the rest of my family couldn’t attend," but then urges her fans and viewers not to "read too much into why members were missing." She says it was thrown together in a month, and that "some were working, some were vacationing, some had babysitting issues, so on and so on."
