We’ve said it in the past—in this day-and-age of instant gratification and our culture of “I want it now, now, NOW!” stalking the catwalk trends during New York Fashion Week is diluted every season by the fact that all those beautiful clothes and accessories won’t actually be available for at least four to six months. Talk about out of sight, out of mind. And guess who agrees with us? Oh, just Tom Ford, who was last year quoted as saying, “The current way of showing a collection four months before it is available to customers is an antiquated idea, and one that no longer makes sense.” (Side note: Tom Ford, you’re a god and we love you.)

While Hollywood stylists and fashion magazine editors might be able to nab pieces for red carpets and photo shoots, us regular folks are, well, a little bored by this major delay. And given our short attention spans, we’ve pretty much moved on to something else by the time those fashions are hitting the market.

But—yes, there is a but here!—a handful of designer trailblazers have begun releasing See-Now, Buy-Now collections that can be purchased online moments after the catwalk lights go low.
