Lauren Conrad Just Chopped Off All Her Hair to Get Hollywood's Hottest Hairstyle

Lauren Conrad is the master of easy, classic California style. We've known this, of course, since we started fan-girling over her effortless look back in the Laguna Beach days. But, it's been such a blast to watch LC's style change as she transitions from lifestyle expert to mom to owner of a chic, short hairstyle. That's right, everyone: the girl with the tumbling, beach-ready tresses just chopped off her locks. 

The new mom revealed the look — er, kind of — in a new Instagram story. The image shows off the back of Conrad's head in the salon chair. The style star was wearing her blonde hair tied back into a ponytail, and a stylist's manicured hands were cutting away at the hair just a few inches below the nape of LC's neck. 

We stalked Conrad's social media accounts this morning, and also spent some time clicking through her go-to stylist Kristin Ess' feed. (No word that the new chop was Ess' work, by the way — we're just taking an educated guess.)

Alas, there's no "after" photo just yet, but we have a good feeling the shorter style will suit Conrad. It's spiffy, sharp, and it's also what Kerry Washington is into these days. If that doesn't bode well for a trend, we don't know what does.
