Kerry Washington Looked Radiant—and Very Pregnant—at the 2016 Emmys
The Scandal star's dress revealed more than just skin.
Kerry Washington is vocal about political issues, but the actress and activist star shies away from revealing too much about her personal life. Nonetheless, her sexy black dress at the 2016 Emmys spoke for itself: Last night, Kerry was clearly dressing for two.
On the red carpet, Kerry—who announced in May that she's pregnant with her second child— gamely posed for shutterbugs in a floor-grazing, strapless gown by Brandon Maxwell. (The designer also stitched up Lady Gaga's memorable Emmys look in 2015.)
The dress's expertly placed cutouts added some intrigue, and Kerry paired the look with simple Gianvito Rossi sandals that showed off a dark pedicure.
The dress fit like a glove. But, lest there was any question that it was made for Kerry, the designer stitched in a tag bearing her name. He later took to Instagram to proudly share: "Beautiful sweet sweet Emmy Nominee @kerrywashington wears custom #brandonmaxwell to tonight's Primetime Emmy Awards."
Several stars went for a more natural beauty look at the awards show, and Kerry followed suit by letting her curly hair hang loose. She wore a subtle cat eye with a wash of gold shadow, but let her radiant skin shine through; on her lips, she had a trace of shimmering pink.
Kerry's known for taking fashion risks whether she's pregnant or not, but we can't wait to see what the mom-to-be wears in these next few months especially.
