How Brazilian Supermodels Get *That* Glow

With the Rio Olympics set to start on Friday, we've been focusing on all things Brazil. Specifically: how are its women that gorgeous? (What can we say? We're not the sporty kind.) Needing more info, we decided to turn to the pros. Violet Grey, which has a rad shop in Los Angeles and a shopable website loaded with expert tips, is taking the beauty industry by storm. It's also Carole Radziwill's go-to resource for all things skincare, mascara, and more. So, we asked celebrity makeup artist and Violet Grey ambassador Kira Nasrat: do we mortals have any hope of achieving Adriana's pout or Gisele's golden tan? Unfortunately, their genes aren't on the market—but these beloved-by-insiders products are.

Adriana Lima has the best pout in Victoria’s Secret History. What are the secrets to getting those gorgeous lips, even if you're not #blessed with that incredible lip shape?

Kira: The secret to having fuller, plumper-looking lips is to keep them moisturized. Start off by exfoliating them to remove dead skin and get the blood circulating, and then moisturize them to immediately give them a pout-boost. When your lips are chapped they can look shriveled and small, but when they’re moisturized, they immediately look more pouty. Finish with a color product to enhance the pout.

Okay, help us out. Which exact products would you recommend? How about lipstick colors that Adriana would approve?

Kira: Sara Happ lip exfoliator is fantastic and feels so good on the lips. It’s smells great too! By Terry Baum de Rose really helps lock in lips moisture, and not to mention, the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer. It really gives lips a little extra plumpness without the harsh tingling. If you want to wear a red lip like Adrianna Lima, try Lipstick Queen Brat Pack lipstick. It’s so flattering on everyone. For a softer shade Tom Ford Spanish Pink is lovely – it’s creamy and super hydrating.

Let's talk Gisele Bündchen. Where to start with her?! One thing she always is a perfectly golden tan.

Kira: A great tan starts with an exfoliated body. I recommend exfoliating and keeping skin moisturized days leading up to applying a self-tanner. African Botanics Body Scrub is one of my favorites. I apply a body oil on after the shower, I love all of Shiffa’s. They smell so great and are so calming and relaxing. I recommend the James Reed Enhance Wash Off tanner. Its creamy texture allows you to apply it evenly on your skin, and it wont transfer until you properly wash it off.

We're also pretty into Alessandra Ambrosio around here. She never shies away from a gorgeous, smoky eye.

Kira: All smoky eyes are not created equal, so you have to find the right smoke for you! I love rich chocolates, eggplants, and aubergine shades mixed with metallic. Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks in Plum and Cocoa are great to create this smoky effect when blended. Dior Long wear eye shadow in Hypnotique and Millenium are also great to add over the blended Caviar sticks on the lids.
