Gigi Hadid's Parents Had the Most Touching Response to Her Milan Fashion Week Attack
The model's famous parents always have her back.
When Gigi Hadid was rudely grabbed by a stranger in Milan yesterday, sister Bella was right by her side, yelling at the assaulter to let Gigi go. After Gigi stood up for herself admirably—elbowing the self-described "protester" until he ran away in fear (yes!)—her parents rushed to commend her assertiveness.
Mother Yolanda Hadid took to Instagram to write: "Bravo Gigi for defending yourself and standing up for what is rightfully yours, your mind, body and soul should not be touched by anyone unless you want to." She followed the statement with the hash tag #boxingskills. In a seemingly related post later that day, Yolanda put her stamp of approval—a red heart—next to a sign that read: "Here's to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them."
Gigi's dad, Mohamed, also posted about the incident. The gist? Who needs security guards when you can handle your own safety. He added: "woman power" and "self defense." But while applauded his daughter's strength, Mohamed did seem a bit alarmed that Gigi had to come to her own defense as "30 men looked on." (We kind of had the same question about where security was, while cringing at the video.) In any case, the moral of this story is clear: Don't mess with a Hadid!
