This Is the Shoe That Everyone Is Going To Be Wearing This Summer

It doesn't matter if you wear 'em as a flat, sneaker or mule...they're all cool.

Long the go-to shoe of summer, the espadrille has gotten a major reboot in 2017 in the form of slides, mules, loafers and sneakers—or, as I’m partial to calling them, sneakerdrilles. All this commotion is music to my feet, because the majority of these cuties are flats, which means my tootsies won’t be put through the gauntlet this summer. And I’m not alone in my excitement. The hashtag #espadrilles has more than a half million tags on Instagram and if you search “espadrilles” on Pinterest and you’ll find tens of thousands of drool-worthy pins.

What’s this mean for you? Well, that it means comfort for one thing—thank goodness those knee-high gladiator sandals are on their way out. And while we all want the Chanel cut out loafer version, luckily there are slews of more affordable and equally cute options out there…all of which we’ve culled together for you below.
