Celebrity-Inspired Beauty Trends for Summer 2016
From rainbow braids to inky black lips.
Looking for some summer beauty inspiration? Look no farther than celebrities' Instagram accounts. From spider lashes to blue eyeshadow, here's what'll keep you looking good through Labor Day.
1. Bright Red Lips
There so were so many fiery pouts at Cannes, we lost track of all the celebrities who wore a red lip. But we did take away one lesson: classic red never goes out of style. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's favorite shade is "Supermodel Kiss" (how apropos) from her own collection, Rosie for Autograph.
2. Rainbow Everything
The rainbow beauty trend is still going strong—and we have a feeling it will be a No. 1 hit at summer music festivals.
3. Blue Eyeshadow
Bey wore it at the Met Gala, then Jessica Alba rocked it at the Billboard Music Awards. To achieve her smoky, sexy look, Jessica used Honest Beauty's eyeshadow trio in ocean blue.
4. Platinum Blond Hair
Taylor has it. Emma Stone has it. Kesha has a platinum-blond 'do, too. That's it: we're calling trend.
5. Glowing Skin
Contouring is out; clean, glowing skin is in. And when celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath launched her Skin Fetish 003 kits earlier this month, beauty buffs went wild.
6. Black Lips
Black lipstick seems more goth than summery... but why can't we be both? McGrath recently posted this "MAJOR noir lip."
And, Kylie Jenner announced last night that Kylie Cosmetics will launch a black lipstick shade called "Majesty."
7. Spider Lashes
That's right, spider lashes are a thing now. Maybelline even released a mascara called, well, "Spider Mascara." (It's shown above on model, singer, and editor Natalie Suarez.) Instead of scary and clumpy, spider lash 2.0 means long, skinny, and dark.
8. Rosy Nails
Celebrity manicurist Jin Soon Choi just released the "Rose Balsam Collection" of nail polish. The pretty shades—there's a pale pink and a sheer red—are inspired by rose petals. They can be worn separately, or mixed together to create an orange-y hue.
