This Anti-Blister Spray Actually Works & Now We Can Wear Heels All Day Long

Because we shouldn't dread wearing new shoes.

By Courtney Thompson

The phrase “beauty is pain” is one that likely harkens true to every woman on the planet, and nowhere is it more applicable than when wearing heels. Or gladiator sandals. Or any new shoes where the fabric is coming in contact with your skin. There’s a reason why 90% of women dancing at weddings are barefoot—their shoes are like fox traps, cutting, chafing, and blistering their feet to smithereens. And never is this more true than the early days of spring, when you're breaking out your favorite sandals and flats after having swathed your feet in cozy socks and boots all winter. The result? Raw heels, cut ankles and blistered toes—we're all simultaneously hobbling home, trying to enjoy the newly warm weather while simultaneously avoiding stepping in ways that will further irritate our poor feet.

Painful shoes—and the resulting damage they do to our feet—is a universal problem that literally all women can relate to. And yet we continue to just endure the discomfort, stashing bandages in our purses and bringing backup flip flops in case the pain is too much.

Until now! A new anti-blister product that launched a few months ago is revolutionary because, well, it actually works. PreHeels is a skin-protectant spray that you apply to hot-button areas (like ankles, heels, toe creases…anywhere that could be chafed) and in doing so, create an invisible barrier between your skin and the shoe. Dry after 45 seconds, the protective coating is anti-friction, lasts for 12 hours, and doesn’t rub off on your shoes like anti-blister balms and creams. Another perk? You’re not cobbling together a quilt of bandages all over your feet, only to have to replace them in an hour or two. (Also: Bandages are SO unsightly!)

As for downsides, there aren’t many. The alcohol smell is slightly unpleasant, but dissipates after a few seconds, and we’d recommend applying in your bathroom or outside as the spray can leave a residue on the counter or ground (similar to aerosol hairsprays). But considering what we’re getting in return—Freedom from blisters! Freedom for the dread of how much pain a new pair of shoes is going to cause!—it’s a small price to pay.

So, buy this product as fast as your fingers can click “purchase” and then bask in the knowledge that your blisters are soon going to be a thing of the past, because it's about damn time.
