'America's Next Top Model' is Coming Back—Without Tyra
Who on earth could fill Tyra's shoes?
Want the good news first? America's Next Top Model is coming back. That's right: the show that taught us all the meaning of smize strikes up again on VH1 this fall. But, don't expect to find Tyra and Miss J where you left them. The new ANTM has a whole new crop of judges, and a host you may not have expected.
British singer Rita Ora will step into Tyra's place as the gatekeeper to young models' dreams, and we can't wait to see what the singer has in store. This season of the runway-focused show will have a bigger focus on pop culture, since the models of today tend to be multihyphenates. (Right, Stephanie Seymour?) Tyra chatted with USA Today about the new host, explaining: “It’s no longer just about having the highest cheekbones and best pout and the best hair. My goal is to really get into these girls' heads that I’m not looking for some successful model and I’m not looking for some social-media star. I’m looking for both. I’m looking for a hybrid, because that’s where the world is.” As a singer, designer, model, and businesswoman, Rita certainly has a few hyphens beneath her belt.
As for the panel of judges? Look for model Ashley Graham, stylist Law Roach, and Paper Magazine's chief creative officer Drew Elliott. We'll be rooting them all on.
