You'll Never Guess Who’s Creating a Beauty Line

It’s one thing when Kylie Jenner launches a makeup line. (Frankly, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on that Lip Kit.) It’s slightly more surprising when a rainbow highlighter breaks Etsy. And naturally, we were blown away when Dyson released a hairdryer. But this may be the biggest beauty shocker of them all. Gather round, people: Lionel Richie has entered the cosmetics game.

To be fair, the king of smooth jams has a style that’s all his own (that hair!) He’s also no stranger to consumer goods, with an eponymous home collection under his belt. Onyx highball glasses and gilded salad plates? But of course. So when the singer picks up a blush brush, we expect a certain degree of… shall we say… panache.

Happily, the collection comes out swinging with its glorious name: “Hello by Lionel Richie.” The music legend just filed a trademark for the line, so we’re bracing for an onslaught of body glitter, hair bows, nail polish, bath beads, and more when the collection actually launches.

Oh, and the candles. Apparently, Richie has also developed a trademark for a line of candles and candle accessories. We have lots to process here, but our most pressing need is to see what a Lionel Richie hair bow looks like.
