15 Adorable Wacha Moments for His Adoption Andy-versary
But everyday's a holiday when your dad is Andy Cohen, amiright?
For those of you who don’t know — and how could you not know?!?! — Wacha is Andy Cohen’s beagle-foxhound mix. He was adopted through See Spot Rescued from a West Virginia kill shelter on October 18, 2013. Four years ago today, Andy Cohen brought Wacha home.
Happy adoption birthday Wacha, you gorgeous fellow! If we could, we would kidnap you, but we’re too terrified of the mob of Housewives Andy would send to capture you, and bring you home.
To commemorate your adoption-slash-birthday, we remember our top 15 favorite Wacha moments below.
Wacha is not some two-bit trollop … and he is adopted.
Unlike some celebrity children, Wacha is not embarrassed to talk about who his father is. In this video from 2014, he muses over how he’d like to spend his birthday — with fresh figs and a glass of champagne on a private Croatian beach. Towards the end of his fantasy, he suddenly realizes something profound. He is adopted! “This must be exactly how Zahara Jolie Pitt felt when she found out she was adopted,” he muses.
Wacha meets his namesake … and greets him with a handshake.
If you’re a fan of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, then you know that Wacha is named after the famed St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Michael Wacha. (Or is the other way around?) In any case, Andy is a diehard Cardinals fan, so he was excited for his pet protégé to meet his namesake when the latter appeared as the guest bartender on WWHL this past July. Wacha the dog did not disappoint, greeting Wacha the pitcher with a handshake. “I don’t know whose belly I want to rub more,” Cohen proclaimed afterwards.
Wacha escapes from death row…and lives to tell the tale.
In a recent #tbt post, Wacha showed a picture of himself being loaded into the prop plane that took him from West Virginia, where he was found at a kill shelter, to New York, where he would be adopted by his daddy, Andy Cohen. Lucky boy.
Wacha jumps on Carol Burnett…in his defense, she was yodeling.
There are many things we’d like to do with Carol Burnett. Sing karaoke. Take a dance class. Jumping on her lap is not necessarily on that list. However, that’s exactly what Wacha did after Carol Burnett started yodeling like Tarzan on WWHL. Hey, we get it. The call of the wild is pretty intoxicating.
Wacha interviews his dad on PeopleTV…and leads with the question, “Why are you so shallow?”
Ouch, Wacha! The question leads to a pretty cute moment, however, in which Andy admits that his love for Wacha has made him both a deeper — and a skinnier — person. “I love you as though I gave birth to you, pal,” Andy tells his canine son.
Wacha meets his Cuddle Clone…and chooses a paper cup.
The company Cuddle Clones, which creates stuffed replicas of real life pets, sent Andy a stuffed version of Wacha. When Andy introduced the real Wacha to his doppelganger, the pup was less than interested. Instead, he chose to play with a paper cup. And who could blame him for his disinterest? “It costs more than you do,” Andy said of the clone at one point.
Wacha approves of Andy’s boyfriend…and so does Anderson Cooper.
It was Anderson Cooper who told Andy that “dogs always know” if a romantic partner is “the one.” “You have to listen to your dog,” Cooper said. Wacha has always liked Andy’s boyfriend. If Wacha approves, then we approve as well — not that Andy cares, but still, swoon!
Wacha makes out with Kelly Ripa…and Mark Consuelos tries to be cool about it.
I mean, it’s not every day that you get to make out with a dog that has over 200,000 followers on Instagram.
Andy Cohen wears Wacha pajamas…made, of course, by Southern Charm’s Pat Altschul.
Can we have the caftan version??!!?!
Wacha confronts himself in the mirror…and has a Stuart Smalley moment.
“I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!” Wacha captioned a photograph of himself looking at his own reflection in the mirror. He was quoting, of course, Stuart Smalley, the character played by Al Franken on Saturday Night Live. Doggone it, people do like you, Wacha! We don’t merely like — we love.
Wacha meets Kim Zolciak-Biermann…and damn, Kashmere must smell good.
Because Wacha could not get enough of her skin! “She was COVERED in lotion and I couldn't stop lickin her!” he captioned the photo. Dogs always know.
Anderson kisses Anderson Cooper…despite rumors of a rift.
It’s true. Wacha did once bite Anderson Cooper. [[http://www.bravotv.com/blogs/andy-cohen-wacha-bit-anderson-cooper]] But he has PTSD from his past life! As Andy says, “It hasn’t all been wine and roses.” And the biting caused no lasting damage. In fact, Wacha recently posted a photograph of himself kissing — no, MAKING OUT — with the silver fox, proving that there is nothing but love between them.
Wacha gets his own feature in Us Weekly… and honestly doesn’t care.
“No idea what it means but AC is really excited!!” said Wacha of his July 26, 2016 feature in Us Weekly, which showed him canoodling with the likes of Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen, Kristin Chenoweth, John Mayer, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. Humility suits you, Wacha.
Wacha hangs with LVP…and proves he’s comfortable with royalty.
Hanging out with Lisa Vanderpump must be like visiting the most exquisite winery in Bordeaux for a dog. So many smells. What we want to know is, did Lisa tell him who the true love of her life is? And is it Ken, or someone else? Someone with four legs, perhaps?
Wacha loves his dad.
This is an every day thing for these two. We couldn’t be happier that they are together.
