Ring Games
-----------------------------------------------------------------
1. What are "Ring Games?"
"Ring Games" are simply non-tournament games of Texas Hold 'Em available 24 hours a day. They provide players the opportunity to practice when they are unable to participate in a Tournament.
2. How do I begin playing in "Ring Games?"
If you are a registered player, simply click on the "Ring Games" tab in the lobby; select the table you want to play at; select your seat at that table and place your bet at the start of the next hand.
3. If my desired table is empty, can I sit down?
Yes, we suggest that you do. It is our goal to have you play the game you want to play. Chances are, you'll be able to get your desired game going, even if you're first one to take a seat. Other players will most likely arrive shortly.
4. How does the wait list feature work when a table is full?
If a table you select is currently full, press the WAIT button and you will be added to the wait list. The lobby screen will show you where you are on the list. For example, "4 of 5" means that you are fourth on the list of the five people that are waiting. When a seat becomes available, you will automatically be notified.
5. What does "Avg. Pot" and "Plrs/Flp" in the Lobby mean?
"Avg. Pot" is the average pot size for the last 20 hands. "Plrs/Flp" is the percentage of players, averaged over the last 20 hands, who "see the flop".
6. How do I know how much money is in the pot?
The chips are clearly stacked and are easily read. In addition, a money counter will be displayed in the bottom right hand corner.
7. What does "session number" mean?
Every hand played is given a unique game number. This game number (also known as "session number") can be used when requesting player hand histories or when there is a problem with a specific game that you would like to review or report. If there is ever a question or a problem with a particular game, note the game number and reference it when contacting us.
If you missed the game number and the next game has already started, check where it says PREVIOUS # in the bottom right hand corner.
8. How do I access hand histories?
You can get access to your recorded hand histories from the table by clicking the â,"Râ, in the bottom right hand corner or by clicking Options in the Lobby and selecting Recorded Hands.
Tournaments
----------------------------------------------------------------
1. What are "Tournaments?"
A "Tournament" is a contest in which all players start with an equal amount of chips and play until one player has accumulated all the chips in play. Tournaments are scheduled to begin at specific times and you must register/reserve a spot in advance of the starting time to participate.
2. How do I participate in a "Tournament?"
If you are a registered player, simply click on the "Tournaments" tab in the lobby; select the Qualifying Tournament you'd like to participate in. If you are logged in at the start of the Tournament you chose, you will be invited to take your seat when it starts.
3. How many Qualifying Tournaments can I participate in?
An entrant may play in an unlimited number of Qualifying Tournaments until an entrant wins a Qualifying Tournament (i.e., is the last player remaining at the final table of a Qualifying Tournament). Once an entrant wins a Qualifying Tournament that person may no longer play in any subsequent Qualifying Tournament(s). If an entrant wins a Qualifying Tournament and then plays in a subsequent Qualifying Tournament(s) that is a violation of the Competition rules and that entrant may be disqualified from the Competition. A winner of a Qualifying Tournament may continue to play in Ring Games as much as they like.
4. When is the Championship (Final) Tournament?
The Championship (Final) Tournament for the current Tournament is scheduled to be played on Sunday, January 7th at 9pm EST.
5. Why are you only able to register for a Qualifying Tournament 2 hours in advance?
We do this to ensure that the most amount of people who register for a Qualifying Tournament actually show up for that Qualifying Tournament. Players who register for a Qualifying Tournament but don't show up slow down the game because that player will still be dealt cards and blinds will be posted for that player automatically. This will continue until he or she shows up or until that player runs out of chips (is "blinded out").
6. Why is there a limit of 500 players per Qualifying Tournament?
We do this to ensure that the games run as smoothly as possible and complete within a reasonable amount of time.
Technical Questions
----------------------------------------------------------------
1. I can't seem to get the program to run on AOL, what can I do?
This problem is typical of computers with AOL. If you use AOL on your computer, follow these simple steps: AOL users must start up under AOL and connect to the Internet. On AOL go to "Internet" menu and click on "Go to Web". From this screen try connecting again to CPS Online.
2. I use a Mac and. Can I play poker at your site?
Yes, with our web based version you can launch the poker appliction. However, you must have Mac OS 3.9 or higher to play.
3. When I try to connect I get the message "Network Error Occured. Reconnecting..." Why can't I connect?
If you consistantly get this error when attempting to connect, it is likely that the network you are connecting from is a high security network that does not allow the type of data transfers that CPS Online Poker requires to run. Your best bet is to try connecting to the game through a computer on a different network.
4. I'm still having problems getting connected, what can I do?
Please email support for assistance. We are always happy to help you.
