Tom Sandoval Reflects Fondly on Affair Aftermath: “Best Thing That Could’ve Happened"
Vanderpump Rules' Tom Sandoval shared new details about his post-split experience, particularly while on the road touring with his band.
It turns out there was one good thing to come out of Tom Sandoval's affair — and it has to do with the Vanderpump Rules cast member's band, Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras.
"Touring, it saved me, in a lot of ways," he shared on the May 14 episode of the Vanderpump Rules After Show. "I had to do things I felt like I could have control over because I didn't have very much control over everything."

Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras' tour came just mere weeks after his split from Ariana Madix.
"It was hard, but it was so rewarding now, looking back, to go out on stage when you feel like everybody hates you and you gotta go out and be a lead singer in a band called Tom Sandoval & the Most Extras," he said.

In fact, Sandoval went on to describe the experience as "the best thing that could've happened" to him. Why? As he told Tom Schwartz on the VPR After Show, "Because I was able to reconnect with fans, with people, [and] humanize myself, one city at a time. But also, it gave me a gauge as to how people really were."
This, Sandoval explained, was especially helpful considering Schwartz had opted to become "a recluse."
"Schwartz would be like, 'Do you get stuff thrown at you every where you go, like in the supermarket? Are people slashing your tires?' No they're not," Sandoval continued. "They're not. They're actually like normal, chill, nice people. It's just online, it was so ridiculous."
That said, Sandoval's concerts weren't completely devoid of haters. As he recalled, "There [were] people showing up with [signs that said] 'scumbag' and 'cheater,' 'worm with a mustache,' and they're all sitting in the front row. And I have to go out and sing in front of them."
As such, Sandoval and co. had to switch up the run of the show.
"We would initially start off our show with a slower-building song, and we had to change it to a big, in-your-face kick-in-the-f-cking-doors song to make sure that nobody started any kind of chants or anything," he recalled. "Honestly, we brought out such positive energy that a lot of people came to be a certain way and ended up just having a blast. Like, by the end, people would be like, 'I had a good time.'"
