The fitness trainer, it turns out, is missing his index finger. He's since opened up about losing the digit in an accident.

What happened to Brock Davies' fingers?

Brock explained during an August 2022 appearance on Lala Kent's podcast that his index finger got crushed in a machine on his family's dairy farm when he was four years old. As a result, he currently only has nine fingers.

"We grew up on a dairy farm," Brock began, recalling the tragic story. "And then one afternoon, I was in the yard, and it’s a circular yard, and there’s a pin in the middle with a gate — just like a clock hand. And as it rotates around, it pushes the cattle onto the table to get milked. And when it gets to about 7 o’clock, there’s a side gate and you take the bulls out of the side because you don’t want the bulls to go onto the milking table..."

“There’s me. Four-and-a-half years old, walking past this big bull, and I walked straight past him to get him out of the side,” Brock continued, explaining that while he tried to get the bull to move by making noises and motions with his hands, this instead "startled" the animal.

As a result, the bull kicked Brock and he "fell back onto the gate" that was behind him.

“And it just so happened that the cover was off, and then I rolled my hand in. And it rolled in, like, gears," Brock said. "Caught my hand and then it crushed my first finger, flange number one, my pointer, and a bit of the two. But then it actually crushed all of my hand."

What happened after Brock Davies lost a finger?

After the accident happened, Brock said that he went to the local veterinarian because the farm was located in such an isolated area. "We were on the farm, so we had to go to the vet in town," he said. "I had to go to the vet, and then they wrapped it up in a bandage, and then I had to get airlifted to the hospital because it was, like, two hours away."

"So they had to do a bone graft, skin graft — it was hectic," he added about how he was treated once he went to the hospital. "That was wild."

Though the event was traumatizing, Brock said that he doesn't remember ever being in intense pain.

"Never pain, but I remember talking about it over and over..." he said about what happened in the aftermath of the accident. "It's gnarly."
